I love to work with people, discovering their personalities and what makes them tick. So, when the opportunity arose to train as a professional celebrant, I jumped at it.
In my working life I have always been immersed in people related jobs, empathising with their needs and aspirations; starting off as a hotel manager in the late ‘70’s after University, and moving into teaching, mainly English to foreign students in the UK and around the world. A period of 12 years sailing the oceans followed – teaching new crew members the rigours of deep-water sailing.
Once back on land in France in the late 90’s, my husband and I bought a rambling old country house and established a hotel. We hosted many celebrations; particularly weddings and memorials, for which I took the role as Celebrant before it became a named profession.
Moving to the south-west of England in 2011, I fell back on my teaching skills while renovating several houses. As celebrancy became more recognised, I set my sights on becoming a professional Celebrant and completed the formal training with the International College of Professional Celebrants in between lockdowns.
I am delighted to be able to combine the skills I have learnt from a variety of careers and merge them into my passion for celebrancy.
I hope we’ll meet to discuss your significant occasion that deserves an unforgettable and distinctive celebration.
